Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What happens if I lose access to my Kleidi account?
Your funds remain safe in your wallet. You can:
- Reset your password through Clerk authentication
- Switch back to direct RPC in your wallet temporarily
- Contact support at contact@kleidi.io for account recovery
Can I use hardware wallets with Kleidi?
Yes! Kleidi works with hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor when connected through supported wallet interfaces (MetaMask, etc.). Your private keys never leave your hardware device.
How do I switch back to direct blockchain access?
Simply change your wallet's RPC URL back to the default provider (like Infura or Alchemy) in your wallet settings. Your funds and wallet remain unaffected.
Address Book
Can I use the same address book across multiple wallets?
Yes, your address book is tied to your Kleidi account, not your wallet. Any wallet using Kleidi with your account will share the same address book.
Why do I need to add addresses for each network separately?
Addresses work differently on each blockchain. An Ethereum address might not be valid or safe to use on Base or Optimism, so we require chain-specific approval for safety.
Protocols
Why isn't my favorite DeFi protocol supported?
We continuously evaluate new protocols for security and legitimacy. Popular protocols are prioritized. You can request protocol additions by contacting support.
How often are new protocols added?
New protocols are added regularly after security review. Major protocols are typically added within 2-4 weeks of evaluation.
Technical
What happens if Kleidi goes down?
If Kleidi is temporarily unavailable:
- Switch your RPC back to a direct provider temporarily
- Your funds remain safe in your wallet
- We maintain 99.9% uptime with automatic failover
How does Kleidi handle failed transactions?
Failed transactions are logged for your review. Common causes:
- Insufficient gas
- Slippage tolerance exceeded
- Contract execution failure
Security
How does Kleidi protect my transaction data?
- All data encrypted in transit and at rest
- No private keys ever stored or transmitted
- Transaction validation happens server-side
- Full audit logs maintained securely
Can Kleidi see my private keys or seed phrase?
No. Kleidi only sees transaction requests after your wallet signs them. Your private keys never leave your wallet or hardware device.
